The desk

Editorial standards

These rules exist so a skipper in Scarborough and a tech in Coomera can tell reporting from a brochure. If a piece falls short, tell the desk.

Who we write for

Australian vessel owners, yards and wholesale buyers. We use Australian English, Australian regulators, and litres rather than US gallons unless a manufacturer’s rating is quoted in both. A guide should still make sense if the reader is on a 5.8-metre trailer boat, not only an 80-foot motor yacht.

Sources

Safety and legal claims lean on AMSA, ACMA, state marine agencies and the Collision Regulations as applied in Australia. Product behaviour leans on manuals, classification notes and named workshop practice. We do not invent survey outcomes or “best seller” ranks.

Independence and money

Brand names from the old wholesale list appear because they are the ones Australian searchers still type. A mention is not a dealer appointment. Paid work is labelled on the page. Outbound paid or guest links use rel="sponsored", as described on write for AM Wholesale.

Corrections

Factual errors are corrected in the piece, with the updated date in the byline. We do not silently swap a heading after a brand complains. If the error could affect safety — EPIRB registration, navigation lights, radio licensing — the correction is noted in the opening section.

Images

Photographs are Creative Commons or public domain, self-hosted, and credited on the page and on the credits register. We do not scrape manufacturer hero shots.

What this site is not

It is not a substitute for a licensed marine surveyor, a qualified installer, or the carriage rules that apply to your vessel. It is not the old Coomera showroom’s stock list. For the origin story, read about the journal. For the reported set, open the guide index.
